Jacquetta M. Chatman, Ed.D. is the Founder and CEO of Mothers of Black Boys, Incorporated and the Owner/Chief Consultant for MOBB Consulting Group, LLC. Dr. Chatman has served the field of education for twenty years. She has earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Benedict College; a M.Ed. in Divergent Learning from Columbia College, and an Ed.D. from Nova Southeastern University in Educational Leadership.
Dr. Chatman is certified by the SC State Department of Education as an elementary teacher, elementary and secondary principal/supervisor, and is endorsed to teach gifted & talented. She is currently an adjunct professor and faculty site supervisor at Grand Canyon University and Gifted and Talented Teacher in Richland District One. She has supervised more than two dozen student teachers and Education Administration graduate students across the State of South Carolina.
Dr. Chatman is knowledgable in grant writing and has taught grant certification courses, as well serve as a grant reviewer for the United States Department of Education.
Dr. Chatman enjoys serving as a motivational speaker, presenter, advocate for increasing Black Male achievement, and a youth activist. Through her passion for inspiring our youth, she has developed three educational programs, M.A.G.I.C.©, Babbling for Books©, and the MOBB Male Leadership Academy©. Dr. Chatman has been invited to speak for various schools, colleges, community organizations and churches in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia.
This servant leader believes in giving back to the community and sharing resources that will enhance the lives of other people. Dr. Chatman is the Creator of The Community Leaders Coalition and the South Carolina Leading Ladies Awards Program. The Community Leaders Coalition, a caucus of prominent community organizations, known to the community for hosting quarterly MAN to MAN Town Hall Meetings, whereby men gather to discuss and attempt to resolve issues dealing with the plight of Black males. South Carolina Leading Ladies Awards Program is the biannual selection of trailblazing women across the State of South Carolina for outstanding service in their professions and in their communities.
Under Dr. Chatman’s leadership, Mothers of Black Boys, Incorporated are recipients of the Parenting Teen Partnership Grant and 2015 Black Celebrity Giving Rising Star Award and also recognized by the 100 Black Men of Greater Columbia.
She has been featured in KoKoa eMagazine, Pneu-Path Magazine, Brookland Star 2014 Women Making History, 2014 Living Education Magazine, and has received the Infinite Fortitude Wonderful Woman Award.
Dr. Chatman’s most prized possessions are her two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, reading, traveling, exercising, and spending time with her family.
